KIDS AT CHRISTMAS TIME
I am sure you can all remember how excited you used to get at Christmas time when you were children, and now you might just get excited for the younger members of your family. At British Christmas Jumpers we cater for children as well as adults so that every member of the family can get their hands on one of our Christmas sweaters. Why not get your little one a kids British Christmas sweatshirt and get excited for Christmas with them.
I remember not being able to sleep due to excitement but then getting quite worried about it because Santa wouldn’t come if you were still awake. Then, when I could eventually sleep I would wake up at a ridiculously early hour of the morning, waking my parents at the same time by jumping on their bed. Looking back on it, they stayed very calm, because if somebody did that to me now, I don’t think I would be quite as calm. I need my sleep!
We would then be told to wait till everybody was washed and dressed and had eaten breakfast till we could open any presents which were torturous to a little 6/7 year old who’s solely running on adrenaline and excitement. Luckily I was never one of those who had to wait till they had their Christmas dinner in the evening time to open any presents.
However, while this time of year is full of happiness and joy it is important to remember those less fortunate who are unable to celebrate Christmas the way we are lucky enough to. Destroyed by civil war, for children in Syria Christmas becomes another day whereby they are terrified and fight for survival. For many civilians, Christmas becomes a burden as the memories flood back of their old homes and lives that are now destroyed by violence and dictatorship.
We would love to know the routine and traditions you have in your household? Perhaps you get to open one single present on Christmas eve night or maybe you too have to wait right till the end of Christmas day to open anything? Let us know!
